These include plenary events requiring a number of different areas for exhibitions and networking, trade fairs with show elements or demonstrations, and international sporting events such as the recently planned Ice Hockey World Championship, which has unfortunately had to be cancelled due to COVID-19. In addition to the Hallenstadion, which is Switzerland’s largest covered event hall with a surface area of 14,000 m², event organisers also have the seven halls of the adjacent exhibition centre at their disposal, with an overall floor space of 30,000 m² and a selection of conference rooms. “As soon as the trade fair and congress business picks up again, we will be ready to accept enquiries for events that we have not been able to hold in the past on account of to their size.”
Alongside the two infrastructure providers, Zurich Tourism also forms part of the team. This organisation, which runs the city’s convention bureau, sees the cooperation between the three team players as an ideal addition to the existing offerings. Its director, Martin Sturzenegger says: “ACE enables us to cover needs that exceed the capacities of the individual venues. We are particularly fortunate that Messe Zurich and the Hallenstadion are supporting us here with a solution – all from a single source.”
